Bringing war criminals to justice is long overdue and Jamat Shibir has come in the way. To stop them, you have to stop the organizations through which they exist. I want Jamat Shibir removed, and so I ask which institutions are linked to them.
Yes, people would have no complain if Hindu, Buddhist banks, if they existed, but they simply couldn’t function in this country because vast majority is Muslim. Even if they existed, it would create further ethnic division in our country. Muslim fundamentalists would exile them or something. It’s like how the Church dominates in other parts abusing core values of Christianity, imposing rules that are man made, not spiritual teachings. And our sub continent has a history of suffering because of Fundamentalism… Hindu-Muslim clashes and castes, and in 2013 we are seeing more deaths because of Jamat Shibir.
Fundamentalists will always try to control everything using their own rules, always abusing ‘divine rules’. Germany stopped a movement recently in their country, and banned the group. Let’s imagine a world free from fundamentalist networks. As long as people support people who use religion as a tool for division and business I will complain. We should come forward and help people raise awareness. Only then can those people be eradicated.
“I think you are missing the point on what Islam stands for as a religion” – I won’t say anything except we are but a moderate Islamic nation being bombed by fundamentalists these days. I opt to give people freedom about their lifestyle. There’s no problem at all whether people like Islamic banking or any other banking. But. I don’t want an Iran or Pakistan, I want a better than Malaysia 30 years later. Better than both of them people have respect for all religious groups. I heard in a song that belief is a beautiful armor but makes for the heaviest sword! I’m talking about equality, I don’t want to feel embarrassed explaining to my friend that just because he is Hindu he couldn’t apply to IUT, or a girl the same. When I said it, that’s discrimination…and my friend sensed it. Discrimination based on religion, discrimination based on gender. Story of my country. Story of the sub continent. Islamic Bank is rather a symptom of a cancerous disease.
I wish religion was just spiritual and it wasn’t about power and dominance. You say those who believe are not at a liberty to decide whether its application should be confined to spirituality or not but I want to know who APPLY these laws allegedly, are not corrupt in reality. Religion is serious business, been there and seen that. Why are these fierce advertising campaigns then if they are so holy? Or are they feeling threatened to be exposed? Should we feel threatened to speak our mind? If they belong to the fundamentalist network we should not get involved with these institutions. Rather we should be with the people who can’t run these advertisement campaigns but devote their all to bring justice to war criminals. I have high regards for any religion but sorry fundamentalism is just not acceptable.
